Composto de 8 músicas originais, Solid Foundations é um trabalho que me propus a fazer como desafio criativo, trazendo referências de todas as minhas influências musicais, no peso e na pegada das canções. Ao mesmo tempo, com arranjos diretos, violões e levadas mais tradicionais do Rock´n´roll, apresenta traz uma sonoridade orgânica, com letras que vão do espiritual (Hunger Soul) à sacanagem (Short Black Dress), passando pelo blues (Dusty Road Queen), sem deixar de lado uma ou outra diatribe (No Easy Money). Agora em 2011 completaram-se 20 anos da formação de minha primeira banda, e bastante tempo sem fazer shows regularmente, assim... achei que seria uma boa idéia escrever algumas músicas novas e gravá-las com uma qualidade profissional. Tendo as músicas escritas e feita a pré-produção, os amigos músicos foram parte importantíssima do processo de gravação e produção no estúdio Hand Made, em Floripa. O trabalho tem uma sonoridade marcada pelo baixo, com afinações mais graves. Pela primeira vez trouxe violões para algumas bases e procurei timbrar as guitarras cuidadosamente, de acordo com a proposta de cada composição. É um trabalho bem pessoal, a minha alma está nessas músicas, dessa vez mais na luz... do que nas sombras!
